The Oman India Fertiliser Company SAOC (''OMIFCO'') is owned 50% by Oman Oil Company SAOC (''OOC''), 25% by Indian Farmers Fertiliser Cooperative Limited (''IFFCO'') & 25% by Krishak Bharati Cooperative Limited(''KRIBHCO'')OMIFCO has been established,as the result of an initiative by the Governments of Oman & India,inorder to construct, own and operate a modern world scale two-train ammonia - urea fertiliser manufacturing plant at the Sur Industrial Estate in the Sultanate of Oman.
The budgeted cost of the project was US$ 968 milions & financed by US$ 320 millions of equity provided by the sponsor shareholders & US$ 648 millions of debt comprising commercial, Italian & French export credit facilities provided by a group of 22 international and regional banks.
